Reading Quran with Recitation
DURATION: (1) Term, (4) weeks per term, (5) hrs /week.
2017 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Open to students who:-
- Pass the course “Arabic for Quran” or know how to read and write Arabic.
- Desire to recite the Quran correctly.
- Have experience in using the Internet and the ability to learn how to use our LMS – Moodle.
Mode of Attendance:

Objectives:
- This course aims to further advance students’ knowledge of Tajweed rules and improve their recitation.
- The course also, supports students to perform a recitation excellently, accurately and self-confidently with Tajweed.
Method:
- The course is taught in English and focuses on the recitations skills with simple explanation if it is required.
- There will be a practice-oriented recitation and re-correction
- Class size is limited to one on one to allow intensive interactive practice with individual feedback and advice on progress.
Participation:
Active participation is necessary to achieve the stated goals.
Syllabus:
- Learn to recite with Tajweed on the Quran in addition to the correction of any mistakes which have been found.
- Permanently review the previously corrected recitation.
- Regular practice and revision on what has been taught from Tajweed rules.
- The course will cover the Tajweed rules in general not specific.
Course Outline:
Students will be able to:
- Understand some Tajweed rules in a simple and noticeable method.
- The student will be able to recite the Quran fluently and confidently.
- Will be able to observe students’ mistakes and rectify it.
- The course is flexible for students who are looking to improve their recitation and focus on revision.
Recommended Study Habits:
Will be required to practice for effective results.
Course Outcome:
- If the student passes this course with 75% at least, they will successfully move to the “Memorising Course” or “Ijaza course”.
