Modern Standard Arabic-Elementary
DURATION: This course is divided into 2 main levels; level one consists of 30 hours and level two consists
of 20 hours of interactive class contact. The two levels consist of total 50 hours.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Open to students with no background in the language.
- The course is also suited to those who speak some Arabic but have not had the opportunity to learn the written script.
- Have experience in using Internet and ability to learn how to use our LMS – Moodle.

Objective:
The general objective of this course is to familiarize students with the sounds and
letters of Arabic the characters, vowels (harakat) and (tanween) and (Shadda), and
how to read, write and speak along with the basic communication skills.
Another objective of this course is to provide a general foundation in the language and
culture to cope with a range of predictable, everyday communicative situations
encountered when interacting at a basic level, orally and in writing, with native
speakers.
The content of the course has been designed to help students master the Arabic
alphabets at a high pace while building up their vocabulary simultaneously.
Another objective of this course is to increase students’ proficiency in oral, aural and
written Arabic, to improve reading, comprehension, speaking and writing skills. This
includes some specialized phrases in greetings and acquaintance, basic vocabulary
that helps form these sentences.
Students are required and encouraged to use Arabic in class discussion.
Method:
The course is taught in Arabic and includes coverage of the four skills of listening,
speaking, reading and writing.
Authentic audio, video, and reading materials are presented from the very beginning,
and students are encouraged to be creative with the language in and out of class.
There will be guided practice in language usage and authentic communicative
activities.
This course will consist of a variety of activities (both online and offline) designed to
evaluate students’ abilities to accomplish the intended learning outcomes such as; a
Glossary, Single & Folder Choice, Assignments and Quizzes.
Independent reading skills are improved in every lesson, giving students confidence
and motivation.
Positive reading, writing and comprehension habits will be developed for future
studies and work.
This course consists of SYNCHRONOUS and ASYNCHRONOUS. The
SYNCHRONOUS activities consist of approximately 30 hours of interactive classes.
The ASYNCHRONOUS activities are used to monitor private studying.
Class size is limited to five students to allow intensive interactive practice with
individual feedback and advice on progress.
Attendance and active participation are very necessary to achieve the stated goals.

- The Book presented by Institute of Linguists.
- Over this entire course requires students to use the whiteboard on the internet to take quizzes and retrieve assignments updates; designed to evaluate your abilities to accomplish the intended learning outcomes.
Modern Standard Arabic-Elementary I
DURATION: (1) Term, consists of 30 hours of interactive classes.
Syllabus:
Recite the Arabic alphabets.
Recognize and pronounce any Arabic word.
Recognize the difference in pronouncing consonants, long vowels, and short vowels.
Write Arabic letters and words in all their different shapes.
Arabic letters forms in the beginning, middle & final positions.
Reading & writing with vowels.
Know the names of some Objects.
Using this objects and verbs in a small speech.
Modern Standard Arabic-Elementary II
DURATION: (1) Term, consists of 20 hours of interactive classes
Syllabus:
Asking and answering in ease sentences about themselves.
Small Speech; Short Sentences.
Greetings
Use different ways of greetings
Introduce themselves
Exchange of personal information
Course fees quoted are per term of 5 weeks.
