ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Open to:

  • All Nationalities.
  • Arabic speakers& Non-native speakers.
  • Students who pass Beginner levels.
  • Learners with previous knowledge of the Arabic alphabets.
  • Learners who have the ability to read Arabic script.
  • Learners with basic knowledge of types of nouns, such as proper nouns (e.g. Zayd, Muslim) and pronouns (e.g. huwa, hiya), as well as noun-gender and number (singular, dual, plural).
  • Learners who have knowledge of past, present and future tense verb conjugations.
  • Learners who have experience in using the Internet and the ability to learn how to use our LMS – Moodle.

Objectives:

Learners will:

  • Be taken through a journey of the most used Arabic Grammar rules. This means that you start by learning what really matters first.
  • Be able to recognize and understand the meaning of targeted grammatical structures in written and spoken form.
  • Be able to use targeted grammatical structures meaningfully and appropriately in oral and written production.
  • Be able to self-correct when using targeted grammatical structures.
  • Be able to master the language of the holy Quran.
  • Understand Quran in the language it was revealed by Allah on the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
  • Feel confident while reading Quran.
  • Learn how to read Quran effectively with proper understanding.

By completing the Arabic grammar courses online; you will have a better understanding of the Quran directly while reciting it.

Methods:

  • The course is taught in Arabic and includes coverage of the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing taking into consideration the presence of vowels during reading, writing and speaking.
  • There will be guided practices in language usage and authentic communicative activities.
  • This course will consist of a variety of activities (both online and offline) designed to evaluate your abilities to accomplish the intended learning outcomes such as; a Glossary, Single & Folder Choice, Assignments and Quizzes.
  • Positive reading, writing and comprehension habits will be developed for future studies and work.

Participation:

Attendance and active participation are very necessary to achieve the stated goals.

  • Grammatical inflection.
  • Inflection.
  • Personal pronouns, possessive pronouns.
  • Masculine and feminine.
  • Adjectives.
  • Negation.
  • Positive/negative verbs.
  • Question tags.
  • Tenses: Past, present and future
  • Nominal/ Verbal Sentences.
  • Demonstratives.
  • Relative Pronouns.

Course Outcome:

If the student passes the final exam of this course with at least 75%, s/he will successfully move to the Intermediate Level.

Intermediate

  1. Arabic Grammar:
  • Indeclinable Nouns
  • Indeclinable Verbs
  • Dual and its supplements
  • Sound Masculine and feminine plurals and their supplements.
  • The subjunctive imperfect verb.
  • Jussive particles which govern one verb only.
  • Jussive Conditional particles.
  • Non-jussive Conditional particles.
  • Faa’ in the answer to the conditional clause.
  • Jussive Imperfect verb in the answer to the request clause.
  • Assertive imperfect verbs with “noon”.
  • Nominal sentences:
    • Forms of the subject
    • Ellipsis of the subject
    • Multiple predicates
    • Forms of the predicate
    • Ellipsis of the predicate
    • Predicate – subject order in the nominal sentence.
    • Defective verb (kaana) and its set.
    • Defective verbs and particles (detailed study)
    • (Kaana) as defective and as strong verb.
    • Ellipsis of (noon) of (kaana).
    • Class-negating particle (لا).
  1. Arabic Morphology:
    • The morphological balance.
    • Basic and increased verbs.
    • Active and passive verbs.
    • Partially declinable nouns.

Course Outcome:

If the student passes the final exam of this course with at least 75%, s/he will successfully move to the Advanced Level.

    • Doubly transitive verbs: to assume (ظن) and its set
    • Verb – Object – agent and object – verb – agent order.

  • The Accusatives:
    • The absolute object and its deputy
    • The object of purpose
    • The object of accompaniment
    • Adverb of time as an object
    • Adverb of manner
    • Specification
  • The Followers
    • Attributive adjectives
    • Emphasis
    • The per mutative

    • Verbs of wonder

Course Outcome

If the student passes the final exam of this course with at least 75%, s/he can successfully continue his/her study in the Islamic Studies and/or Quran Ijaza courses.

  • Over this entire course requires students to use the whiteboard on the internet to take quizzes and retrieve assignments updates; designed to evaluate your abilities to accomplish the intended learning outcomes.
