Q. Will the blessings al-Mahdī receive, be during the era of al-Dajjāl or after al-Dajjāl’s defeat?
Q. Will the blessings al-Mahdī receive, be during the era of al-Dajjāl or after al-Dajjāl’s defeat?
A. Sequence of Events:
1. Al-Mahdī will come
Narrated by Abu Sa’id al-Khudri:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The Mahdī will be of my stock, and will have a broad forehead a prominent nose. He will fill the earth will equity and justice as it was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years.”
Sunan Abi Dawud 4285
2. Prophet ‘Isa descends
An-Nawwas b. Sam`an reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
(….. it would be at this very time that Allah would send Jesus, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels.)
Sahih Muslim 2937a
3. Al-Dajjāl will come
According to the Hadith “Imam al-Mahdī will appear before Dajjāl. When the Muslim conquests reach Constantinople, Satan would cry: The Dajjāl has taken your place among your family.”
Sahih Muslim 2897
An-Nawwas b. Sam`an reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
(…He (Dajjāl) would be a young man with twisted, contracted hair, and a blind eye. I compare him to `Abd-ul-`Uzza b. Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Sura Kahf (xviii). He would appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere (to the path of Truth). We said: Allah’s Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth? He (ﷺ) said: For forty days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be like your days….)
Sahih Muslim 2937a
4. Fall of al-Dajjāl
(…He (Jesus, son of Mary), would then search for him (Dajjāl) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him.)
Sahih Muslim 2937a
